The Fenian Raid of 1866 

Medal:  de Couteur (Sergent) [O. Labelle], An Official issue Medal, the obverse with side profile portrait of Queen Victoria in royal regalia, the reverse ornate design of old Canadian flag and maple leaves on wreath oval 'Canada' above the edge, inscribed 'O. Labelle - Sergent de Couleurs Chasseurs,' with red and white stripe ribbon and suspension bar 'Fenian Raid 1866,' and engraved additional bar inscribed 'Sergent de Couteir.' (1)

* Inscribed in 1899, these Medals were granted to all Men of the regular and  colonial forces in Canada who were employed in repelling the Fenian Raids on the Canadian Frontier in the 1860's & 1870's.
