Gould (John) “The Birds of Great Britain”, 5 vols. lg. atlas folio, Lond. (Taylor & Francis) 1873. Published by the Author. First Edition.  List of subscribers, 363 hd. coloured litto. plates (ex. 367).

Several of the plates have been damaged by smoke, some with water stains, some are partly defective, and repaired, a few of the plates are lacking letterpress, some offsetting, rebound in uniform hf. green mor., gilt lettered spines and gilt decorated raised bands.  Some beautiful plates, despite damage, most are still very frameable.   S.N.S.R. w.a.f.
