Russian Imperial Hymn.  A postcard (unused) bearing the music and words in French and Russian of the Russian imperial anthem (familiar to anyone who has heard Tchaikovsky’s ‘1812’ overture) with a sheet of Windsor Castle engraved notepaper on which is written the words of the anthem in Russian, three verses, signed Zhukovsky, 1839, 28 Mai.  Zhukovsky was tutor to Grand Duke Alexander Nikolayevich (later Tsar Alexander II), who visited Windsor for two days in 1839.  Mary Spring Rice (later Mrs. Marshall, see above) was at this time a maid-in-waiting to Queen Victoria.
A curiosity.
