* * Moore Brothers 1872-1905
Bernard and Samuel Vincent Moore were manufacturers of China Tableware, high quality ornamental items, almost entirely using cream grounds with gilt highlights. Some of their decorative pieces were also hand painted in colours.
The factory was located in St. Mary’s Works, Longton, Staffordshire, England, employing up to one hundred and fifty people at its peek by 1881.
Bernard Moore eventually moved premises to Wolfe Street, Stoke, and operating on his own he became a Bespoke Potter making pieces with spectacular glazes. His brother Samuel V. Moore subsequently departed the business.
