A very fine George III period inlaid mahogany and satinwood banded Secretaire Cabinet, in the manner of Edwards & Roberts, with divided and dentil moulded cornice, above two attractive inlaid panel doors enclosing three adjustable shelves with tooled leather skirts on a three drawer chest base, the upper drawer with a drop front opening to reveal a fitted interior with an arrangement of drawers, pigeon holes and a centre cupboard, raised on bracket feet, 235cms x 122cms (92 1/2" x 48"). An important English three-train tortoiseshell Bracket Clock, of c.1740, its break-arch brass dial signed ‘Abraham Ferron’ with a rolling moon with engraved faces surrounded by an age-of-moon dial in its arch, along with ‘Strike/Silent’ and ‘Chime/Silent’ dials, its dial with mock-pendulum and date apertures and highly engraved with foliate scrolls centred by a Tudor rose; its triple-fusee movement with highly engraved backplate with floral and foliate designs and signed ‘Abraham Ferron, St. Annes Churchyard’, quarter chiming on eight bells and striking on a further bell; its tortoiseshell case with extensive gilt-brass banding and flambeau-brass finials and an elaborate brass handle, and pierced-brass frets backed by silk to front and sides.

A very good early Chinese carved bamboo Brush Pot, of cylindrical form depicting a large man seated on a rug, 15cms (6"); a Chinese bamboo Brush Pot, carved in deep relief with four figures by a pavilion and two lines of calligraphy and a single oval panel with a phoenix, 13cms (5 1/4"); and a very fine early bamboo Brush Pot, depicting a man with rolling horse in low relief and three lines of calligraphy, 15cms (6").
